How to Enjoy the Meet and Greet

Historically, the Clayathon Opening Reception Gala has been a wonderful event to kick off our creative weekend. In previous years, we’ve donned our wearable art, met in the big dining room, and enjoyed some food and drinks together. Last year, we poured ourselves glasses of wine or coffee at home, put on our loveliest polymer pieces, and gathered in front of our computers. It was a different experience, but still enjoyable enough that we are excited to do it again for 2022!

In an effort to recreate the table-hopping nature of previous mixers, we will be using Zoom breakout rooms. Think of the main Zoom room as the mixer dining room, and each breakout room is a table at the mixer. We’ll spend a few minutes at a time in randomized breakout rooms, getting to know some of our fellow Clayathon attendees before reconvening once more in the main Zoom room.

Technology

Zoom is available for computers, tablets, and phones, but for this event, where it is important to be able to see our fellow participants, we highly recommend using a computer. We also hope that you will keep your camera on. We want to see your lovely face!
